There is something about playing music, sharing music, and experiencing music that is irresistibly compelling to me.“It is not just that cliché that ‘I can’t imagine my life without it. After many years of playing and performing, I know my life is richer for having music in it.
If you have the opportunity to see Marcos perform or to sit with him in his music production and teaching studio (affectionately called “The Garudio”), you can’t help but be caught up. His love for music is as contagious as it is inviting.
I am often amazed and delighted with the discoveries my students make for themselves. I help them develop a musical vocabulary and framework, and they show me what can be done with it.
Marcos holds a Bachelors of Science in Biology from Stony Brook University. He has been teaching music in Rutland County for the past 18 years, and he actively performs with several bands from a variety of traditions. He is very happy to lend his skills to the Killington Mountain School this year.
When he is not teaching and performing, you can find Marcos honing his skills as a swim teacher and lifeguard instructor. He enjoys a good film, and a good hike with his family and friends.
