David moved to Killington from Washington State, where he taught math and science for six years at the middle and high school levels. He earned his Master’s-in-Teaching degree from Western Washington University in 2007 and studied biology at UW in Seattle as an undergraduate.
David got his start in education while supervising teen trail crews in the Cascade Mountains of Washington. This led to trail building and habitat restoration crews elsewhere in Washington, Idaho, Oregon, California, and Nevada through his 20’s. In the middle of these years, he had opportunities to lead volunteer teams doing habitat conservation work in India, Guatemala, and Peru. Though these experiences, David discovered three things he wanted to make into a career: working with youth, travelling, and getting outside. He is looking forward to doing all three at KMS and in the Killington area.
