ALPINE // Extended Training Program

The Alpine U12, U14, U16 Extended Training Program Team, (ETP) is for the alpine racing competitor looking for additional coaching, drills, gate training, and time on snow. The approach will be on training well and training perfect. This program will offer additional training on 16 Fridays, and selected special camp projects, and/or pre-race camps. This program starts Friday, December 11 and concludes March 25. U12, U14, and U16 coaches will be in attendance to provide and conduct training programs. At select times all U12-U16 athletes may train together as one team.  **U10 athletes will be considered; must be approved by Program Director.**

: 10-15 (as of Dec. 31, 2015)

Program Details
The ETP Team offers an athlete to schedule additional training to the two-day weekend program they are enrolled in. The ETP Team builds racing skills while continuing to develop passion for the sport of skiing. Thorough training progressions building skills using a combination of fundamental drill work, gate training, race simulation, aggressive free skiing, and racing. Athletes are expected to be competent skiers on all terrain at Killington.

Program Requirements and information:

  • USSA and VARA membership are required in order to compete.
  • All programs must be paid in full by the first day of the program. No exceptions will be made without prior arrangements with the competitions program director.
  • A helmet is mandatory and must meet USSA criteria for GS training and racing, including a hard shell over the ears (helmets must cover the “head and ears” with a hard shell).
  • Recommended:  Slalom Gear, chin, shin and pole guards and speed suit.
  • Membership in the Killington Ski Club is required for all KSC/KMS program members. This membership entitles you to full use of the club building, including tuning facilities, as well as participation in KSC-sponsored social activities and other offerings.
  • Participation in the KSC/KMS Work Obligation Program is required for all families in the competition programs. This allows us to adequately staff competition events at Killington and provide a quality experience for our athletes in their home events.
  • Each athlete must have a Killington Unlimited Season Pass.
  • The coaching staff will send weekly emails with logistical details for the upcoming weekend.

 Program Fees

  • $650.00 on or before October 15
  • $750.00 from October 16 to November 17
  • $850.00 after November 18

U12, U14, U16 ETP  dates, meeting times, and lunch:

  • Program starts Friday December 11, 2015
  • Friday: 9:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
  • Lunch Time: 12 – 12:45 p.m.
  • All scheduled training and competition is dependent on weather and snow conditions
  • Conditioning Programs at KMS may be scheduled as an alternative training program
  • The program ends on March 25, 2016
